The aim is to maintain the beneficial stewardship of the AONB landscape and the built heritage that lies within it, and thus provide a pleasant environment that can be enjoyed by those who live and work within the boundaries of the Estate, and in the wider Hungerford and Chilton Foliat communities. The intention is, as far as possible, to maintain the essential character of the countryside that surrounds the northern flank of Hungerford.
