The woodlands are predominantly of broadleaf species.  They are managed under an English Woodland Grant Scheme.  There is a rolling programme of thinning, felling and replanting, with additional emphasis on coppicing started in 2007. New copses and belts of trees are added as opportunities arise. The owners’ hope is to install a biomass boiler system by 2015, fuelled as much as possible by home-produced woodchip.
